Benjamin

It had taken Sofia a while to realise he was really gone. Benjamin. Lord Ruffia. Her brother. He best friend. The last male heir to the Ruffia fortune.

Benjamin had never married, despite his mothers constant nagging about the need to find a wife and Sofia new why. It was their secret, nobody else ever knew there was more going on between them than than sibling love, but there was. Benjamin was the love of her life and their feelings were true, but now he was gone. Her Ben, gone forever.

The funeral came quick but time passed slowly. Hours felt like days, days like weeks and weeks like months. Two months after his death, Sofia found out Benjamin would be getting an heir after all. She was pregnant.

Having to go through this without her soul mate close was horrible for Sofia. As her belly grew, so did her sorrow. She stayed in her chambers and neglected her household duties, refusing to tell anyone what was wrong with her.

One day, her mother heard her cry as she walked past her chambers.

As she walked in to comfort her daughter, she saw the young woman’s swollen stomach protruding in her sleeping gown and knew right away the cause of Sofia’s sorrow.

“What have you done, you stupid girl! Who did this? He IS marrying you, you hear me, no daughter of mine is having an illegitimate child! she screamed at the crying woman.

Poor Eveline. What a heartbreaking decision to have to make. But how will she explain the babies?

Ooh, another thing. Is there a Lothian family tree anywhere? I’m getting a bit confused about grandparents and so on.

*Sob* what a sad way to come into the world… Such family tragedy. BUT! Ben has an heir(ess) and she is beautiful. Wow. Loved the expressions on Lady Ruffia’s face. Classic.

She died? Both parents are dead? :-( Wow, I wasn’t expecting that. Now, how will Lady Ruffia explain the babies? Can’t wait to find out!

An interesting twist to the story. It reminds me of Flowers in the Attic a tiny bit except in that story the grandmother hated the children that came from her son and daughter

Oh, I loved those books! Read the whole series.

Except, the children were not from a brother and sister, it was the eldest two that became an item. And then she had to run off a have kids with other men, then to end up with her brother, who nobody knew was het brother at that point, and adopt a little girl. And then the children found out and the youngest son went a bit crazy over it.

Virginia Andrews, the real stuff. GOtta love it.

And Lady Ruffia has done far stranger things than explaining two infants born to her son before his death to the audience. You’ll see.

What a horrible decision to have to make. No parent should have to bury his/her child, but neither should she have to bury a grandchild. What happened to Ben? Why did he die so young?

Wow, what a twist! I never saw this one coming! I’m so sad that both Ben and Sofia died, but am also very happy that there are two new twins in the family. And they’re both so adorable!

So … did Sofia pass away? Man, what a tough decision to make! And TWINS, too! :( What a sad update. I guess she gets to be with her Benjamin sooner rather than later. :( Bittersweet.
